How to Welcome Your New Dog

Having a dog in a home brings about different reactions from family members. Occasionally you are very contented with having a puppy in your house, but from time to time you even wonder why you need one. If you have an energetic dog that behaves like a teenager; it can be frustrating especially when it destroys your decorations and your shopping. What is more; you need to come up with ways of incorporating your dog into the family, so that feels part and parcel of the family.

Of course, every Tom, Dick, and Harry will be delighted on the arrival of the dog, and as a result, they will flatter and indulge the dog in the best way they know how. As much as you want it around, do not overwhelm it with so much attention. Therefore, you must desist from that habit and act as if nothing is happening. As a result, the puppy will gradually adjust staying with you and so will you.

Be careful with vehement rescue dogs as they use biting mechanism to defend themselves from strangers. However, it is humane to give them their free space as they attempt to adjust to their new surroundings.

Am sure you relate what it’s like to be famished and how it feels when your dog has nothing to do with you. All this happens when you do not fodder it correctly. Make sure that you feed it with a hearty meal for it to grow healthy and for it to also feel that it means a lot to you.

Just like human beings, rewarding a dog makes it feel appreciated and loved; therefore use snacks such as chicken dog treats to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.

Nevertheless, you can as well use the meal to train the new canine. Just like you take your human visitors through a tour of your house; it should also apply to the dog. In this case, the mongrel will accustom itself with the house, and as a result, it will walk around the house with ease.In case you feel that you are overwhelming it, then, it is advisable that you do not walk it around the house.

Finally, establish a routine for your activities to avoid surprising the dog with impromptu events. The mundane will assist the dog in knowing when certain activities happen such as when they should take their daily walk and when to move from that task to another. Hence, the new canine will only sleep when all the day-to-day operations are through.

Once you practice the above procedures, then it should not pose any difficulties integrating the dog into the family.
